The fishing rod is a long rodular implement used for capturing fishies.

The fishing rod was invented around the beginning of the fishing rod age by a group of men getting tired of using sticks to fish or simply picking them up in their fingers. The problem was the fish didn't eat the hooks because they weren't very appealing. So in order to attract fish, worms and other such stuff were attached to the hook to sweeten the deal.
